At the award ceremony of the „Krunoslav Sukić“ Prize of the Peace Centre in Osijek, Ajna Jusić received the „Special Recognition for Promoting Peace, Non-Violence and Human Rights“ on December 11th, 2020.

Ajna Jusić, whose fate and that of her mother became known to the world through the film „Esma’s Secret“, was a guest at the peace camp in Split in summer 2019 and held a very moving workshop. Ajna shared about her organisation „Forgotten Children of War“, which campaigns for the rights of people who, like herself, were born after mass rape in war. Nobody talks about them anymore, but until today they are discriminated against by laws and society. All participants admired Ajna for her courage in dealing openly with this situation and standing up for her dignity. Ajna inspired the young people with her story: „You are so brave, I am proud to know you,“ said one participant towards the end of the talk.

Thank you Ajna for your courage and inspiration!

Congratulations!
